As an alumnus you can access free specialist training, one-to-one business advice and coaching on:

• the 'Enterprise Hub' hot-desk facilities, with free access to vital business support tools such as a computer, printer, telephone, Wi-Fi and meeting rooms;

10% Alumni Discount on full-time and part-time taught Master’s level degrees at the University

The University of Huddersfield values its alumni and is pleased to offer an exclusive 10% alumni discount to assist with the cost of taught Master’s level study.

Details

Our Alumni discount is a 10% reduction on annual tuition fees for Master’s taught degree programmes. It is available to all home students who studied their undergraduate degree at Huddersfield. A recent national survey showed that having a postgraduate qualification significantly increases someone's average salary compared to having only an undergraduate degree. It also showed that Huddersfield postgraduates’ average salaries were higher than the national average. We put this down to our focus on employability in our degree subjects.

Email for life for all University of Huddersfield graduates

In 2010 the University of Huddersfield introduced a new free service for its alumni - email for life. 

This means that you can continue to use your student email account as an alumnus after you've graduated - at no cost to you. Your alumni email account will now give you a massive mail quota of 25Gb (up from 10Gb).

Your email address will be studentidnumber@unimail.hud.ac.uk

To sign in to your account, please enter Student ID Number@alumni.hud.ac.uk on the login page.

You can access your email account via http://outlook.com/alumni.hud.ac.uk

If you've forgotten your password or you're locked out of your email address then please email it.support@hud.ac.uk 

If you don't plan to check your alumni email account regularly, we recommend that you set up your account to automatically forward your emails to the account you use regularly.

I graduated before 2010 – can I still get email for life?

If you graduated before 2010, we should be able to set up an account for you retrospectively if you like. If so, please email to alumni@hud.ac.uk and include your full name, date of birth, course you studied, year of graduation and a contact phone number. We'll then pursue it for you.

Alumni access to the library

As an alumnus of the University, you can access the Library on campus and borrow up to five books at one time. To qualify as an alumnus you must have studied at the University for a minimum of one year and have completed a year’s course leading to a recognised University qualification. 

To make use of this service please email borrower.queries@hud.ac.uk so that library staff can further advise you of the process. The library will produce your ID Card in advance of your first visit. Your membership will be valid for five years, after which you will be eligible to renew it.

Due to licensing restrictions, you will not be able to access most online resources, such as e-books and articles, on or off campus. However, you can view Open Access which is freely available to everyone. You can also use Summon as a catalogue to find books and journals we have physically in the library.

Lifetime Membership of the Students' Union

You might have left University, but you don’t have to wave goodbye to student life just yet. Why not stay a member of your Students’ Union and become a Lifetime Member? Lifetime Membership is open to any former student of the University of Huddersfield.

For just a one off fee of £15 you can access the following benefits:

In order to become a Lifetime Member there are just a few simple steps:

1. Register on the SU website as a guest here: https://www.huddersfieldsu.co.uk/groups/lifetime-membership .To do so you will need to use a personal email address (not a University email address). 
2. Upload a profile photo to your account. To do so, go to 'Your Account/Profile' and upload a photo to 'My Profile Picture'.
3. Fill out the short form below. To be eligible to apply for Lifetime Membership we need to confirm that you are an alumni of the University of Huddersfield.
4. Join the Lifetime Membership Group and pay the membership fee. Read the terms and conditions to membership, click the 'join this group' button on this page and follow the instructions for membership payment. 

Once the four stages are complete you are officially a Lifetime Member of the Students' Union and can access the associated benefits with immediate effect. 

When you graduate you'll automatically progress from being a student to being a graduate or ‘alumnus' and join the University of Huddersfield global alumni network.
